TPLO Knee Surgery

Diagnosing Cruciate Ligament Disease at the time of rupture is like diagnosing pregnancy at the delivery date.

Unfortunately as pet owners, the first we know of Cruciate Ligament Disease is often the day that the diseased ligament finally ruptures, the joint becomes acutely unstable, and our poor dog can't walk! Whilst corrective steps can be taken before this point, what is overwhelmingly clear is that the Tibial Plateua Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO) is the benchmark surgical procedure to manage the disease, restore dynamic stability in the leg, and - in combination with some rehabilitation - the fastest way to get your dog back to a great quality of life.

We can usually schedule this surgery within 1-3 weeks, to get your dog back in action as soon as possible.

The Floreat Vet has been regularly performing TPLOs since our major renovation in 2019, at which time our surgical facilities were overhauled to outfit the clinic with the equipment that this advanced, yet routine, procedure requires.
